What this is

These terms cover the game Cogito: your worlds, the game server and the rules of play. The game's site is https://cogito.hakantopcu.dev. The central account, the membership, payments and the HLauncher app fall under HLauncher's terms of use: https://hlauncher.hakantopcu.dev/legal/terms.en.html. By creating an account or entering the game you accept these terms, the privacy notice and HLauncher's terms.

Who can play

You enter the game with your central account, which is your HLauncher account. To play you need an HLauncher membership or a copy of Cogito bought on Steam. Cogito is for people over 18.

Your account in the game

The game server your world runs on keeps a game account of its own, tied to your central account. Do not share your password; you answer for what is done with your account. Do not use an insult, a real person's name or a brand as your username or as a character's name; the game turns such names down.

You can delete your game account at any time from the Account section of the Settings. The request waits 24 hours, and you can take it back in that time. This does not delete your central account; how that is deleted is in HLauncher's terms.

What not to do

• Cheating, or abusing a fault of the game or of the server.
• Sending requests in a way that strains the server.
• Trying to get into someone else's account.
• Using anything other than the game itself to enter the game.

An account that does these may be suspended. If your account is suspended you can appeal from the sign-in screen.

Membership and payment

To play Cogito's site version you need an HLauncher membership; in the Steam version the copy you bought on Steam gives the right. Prices, renewals, refunds and withdrawal are in HLauncher's sales contract: https://hlauncher.hakantopcu.dev/legal/sales.en.html. There are no advertisements in the game.

Limits of liability

Cogito is offered as it is. Reasonable effort is made to keep the game server up, to fix faults and to back up the worlds. Even so, the server may go down, a fault may roll your world back or lose it, and the game may one day close altogether. In these cases liability is limited as far as consumer law allows.

Your refund and withdrawal rights are as written in HLauncher's sales contract, and this section does not narrow them. The rights consumer law gives you are kept in every case.

Credits and rights

The game's code and design are made by Hakan Topçu. The owners and the licences of the pictures, the sounds, the music, the fonts and the software used are on the Credits screen in the Settings.

If this text changes

If the terms change, the version date above changes. The current text is always in the About section of the Settings.
